Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, is one of the bigger and most prosperous city in southern China. Situated between the Baiyun Hill in the north and the Pearl River Delta Plain in the south, the city is approx 120 kilometers north of Hong Kong and Macau and is a strategic trading gate.

According to statistics, China has ranked as the number one country in consuming wine in Asia, with a current wine consumption of 105 million liters per year and a 27.63% increasing speed for wine, 27.2% increase for spirits. Local made wine is expected to decrease from 43% to 14% in the near future, making China the biggest market for wine in a very short time. The biggest wine exhibition WINEXPO will be continuely based in Guangzhou, because of the location advantages of Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and 10 other countries from ASEAN.
